The Internet of Things [IoT] is the heart of innovation and has an enormous impact on the way we do business. By 2020, 50 billion devices will be connected and the market will be worth $14 trillion.

This is an exciting time in the world of technology, and in the city of Cleveland. This introductory event brought together local leaders to discuss the creation of a smarter, more inter-connected world, with the goal of transforming ideas into reality over the next year.

The over 200 in attendance at this lunch and learn heard from industry experts on how they are capitalizing on this exciting time, connected with innovators and investors, and toured the Global Center for Health Innovation!

“Diversity of Devices Available & Industrial Internet of Things”Matt is currently CEO at Embedded Planet and is working on an investment strategy to grow the IoT / M2M product line and support the Arrow Electronics sales channel. He has been at Embedded Planet for a combined 10 years.Matt spent 5 years at Dust Networks doing sales for customer like Emerson. Matt worked at Wind River which is now part of Intel. He also worked 15 years at Rockwell Automation performing software development for motion controls, sales and marketing.Matt earned a Bachelor of Science in Math / Computer Science from Kent State and an MBA from John Carroll.Matt is a member of IEEE and John Carroll entrepreneur groups Muldoon Partners and the Entrepreneur Association.

“Business Models to Embrace IoT”John Kerg is currently the Senior Application Engineer at Arrow Electronics in Cleveland. Arrow Electronics is a fortune 150 company that distributes electronic components, computer systems, software and solutions.John has over 25 years of experience in this industry and is currently focused on the IOT deployment in Northern OH.John earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from ETI Technical College in Cleveland and an MBA from Cleveland State University.John was also one of the six engineers selected from Arrow for the Sam Project last year. They retrofitted a 2014 Corvette for a Quadriplegic to drive as a pace car at the Indianapolis 500 on carb day.
