Scot Rourke
President & CEO

Scot Rourke is an internationally renowned thought leader and founder of OneCommunity. Prior to launching OneCommunity, Scot was president of a national information technology and services company with annual sales of more than $100 million. He is a founding partner of Cleveland Social Venture Partners,served as president of the board for the Friends of the Cleveland School of the Arts and currently serves as trustee. Scot is also a trustee for the Great Lakes Science Center and a board member for Vox Mobile.

He received a B.S. from the University of Michigan, concentrating in business administration and organizational studies.

Sam Steinhouse
Chief Financial Officer

Sam joined OneCommunity in June 2009 as Chief Financial Officer. He assists with strategic financial planning and manages banking relationships for OneCommunity. Active in the community, Sam serves as vice chairman on the board of the Council of Small Enterprises (COSE). He is a member of the finance committee on the board of the Greater Cleveland Partnership, and in 2009 was elected to the Orange City Schools Board of Education where he serves as Board President. Sam is also a 2009 graduate of the Leadership Cleveland program.

Sam received a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Michigan.

Brett Lindsey
Chief Operating Officer

Brett joins OneCommunity from local mobile enterprise firm Vox Mobile, where he also served as COO and oversaw the operations for this rapidly growing organization. Brett brings more than 15 years experience in successful operations management and business development efforts for small businesses to the Fortune 500. Brett has extensive experience in the telecom industry, including serving as president of Elantic Telecom, Inc. and holding a variety of executive management positions with City Signal Communications, Qwest Communications, XO Communications, and Williams Communication Systems. Brett will oversee the execution of all of OneCommunity’s initiatives, ensuring efficient, on-time and on-budget delivery.

Chuck Girt
Vice President of Engineering

Chuck is responsible for the development, growth and management of the OneCommunity ultra-broadband network infrastructure. Recently, Chuck served as National Director of Engineering and Operations for Adelphia Commercial Services (previously Adelphia Business Solutions). Previously, he was director of Midwest operations and core developer for Northpoint DSL.  Prior to that, Chuck worked for MCI for 14 years,

Chuck holds a Ph.D. in theoretical physics, a master’s degree in quantum physics, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical and mechanical engineering, all from the University of California at Berkeley. He has also earned a Nobel Peace Prize (Laureate) in Physics for Quantum Duality.

Tom Miller
Community Technology Executive

Tom Miller joined OneCommunity in 2008 to lead their education department and to work with Northeast Ohio schools as a Community Technology Executive.  Tom has worked with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District’s leadership and their IT department to establish uniform IT policies and devise long-term approaches to technology integration to create a 21st-century learning environment for the school system’s 49,000 students.   Tom is also coordinating the educational components of OneCommunity’s Connect Your Community Initiative, which will train over 25,000 sustainable broadband adopters in underserved communities in seven cities, including Cleveland, Akron and Detroit. 

Prior to joining OneCommunity, Tom spent 13 years with the Howard County (Md.) Public School System, most recently as the Executive Director of Instruction and Business Technology. Before assuming that position, Tom served as e-Learning Facilitator. Tom also spent seven years as a middle school and high school teacher.

Tom earned a bachelor’s degree from Towson State University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from The Johns Hopkins University. 

Scott Tennant
Vice President of Development and External Affairs

Scott is responsible for OneCommunity’s public face, including its interaction with funders, customers, potential customers, and other target audiences. He oversees fundraising efforts as well as marketing and public relations, and is responsible for creating and executing strategic plans in those areas.

Scott has more than 20 years of experience in strategic communications, starting as a newspaper and trade magazine reporter and editor before moving into the marketing arena. Prior to coming to OneCommunity in February 2011, he spent 4½ years as a public relations officer at the Cleveland Foundation, where he oversaw media relations and website development along with writing and editing publications for donors and grantseekers.

Scott earned a bachelor’s degree in English and history from John Carroll University.

Len Vega
Vice President of Operations

Len Vega serves as Vice President of Operations for OneCommunity. Len and his team focus on providing first class service to the growing base of OneCommunity customers, while at the same time managing OneCommunity vendors to insure the most economical use of resources. Prior to joining OneCommunity, Len led the Professional Services group for an early stage software provider helping the business to double revenue year over year for 4 years. He began his telecommunication career with US Air Force and has held senior and executive management positions with MCI Communications and XO Communications. An Ohio native, Len holds a BS from Heidelberg College and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.
