As Cleveland’s lakefront development progresses, understanding the impact of technology and smart development can help ensure that our region is at the forefront of innovative, strategic place-making.
Highlights of this event include insights from local community leaders who recently attended the 2015 Intelligent Community Forum Summit in Toronto, as well as a presentation by Kristina Verner, Executive Director of Intelligent Communities for Waterfront Toronto, detailing the multi-billion dollar, digitally-infused redevelopment occurring along the city’s coast.
About Kristina Verner
Kristina Verner is the of Director, Intelligent Communities for Waterfront Toronto, where she is responsible for a variety of strategic initiatives with a goal toward creating one of the world’s preeminent intelligent communities.
Verner serves as VP, Ontario for i-CANADA and is also a founding member of the Board of Advisors for Walsh University’s ICF Institute for the Study of the Intelligent Community in North Canton, OH.
Previously, she served as the R&D Officer at the University of Windsor Centre for Smart Community Innovation. In that role, she oversaw various aspects of the Connecting Windsor-Essex Smart Community and was instrumental in securing significant funding to support the increase of ICTs within the region to encourage cross-sector collaboration and innovation.
Kristina provides thought leadership to support and inform governments in developing countries regarding successful ecosystem development to support the creation of transparent, connected, vibrant communities and economies.
